Have you enjoyed free service by JIO in its initial months? Disruptions caused by JIO in the market led to

i)Merger of Vodafone & Idea.

ii)Airtel changes its business strategy a lot.

iii)Aircel,Tata DoCoMo,Hutch etc had gone out of business.

iv)BSNL is running due to govt's assistance.

Now only two big mobile companies are working in India. They are JIO & Airtel.

Q)Do you think that disruptions caused by JIO in Indian Telecom Market causes harm to consumers in the long run?

Ans: According to me,answer is YES as we have less options to opt for.------>Telecom companies are increasing prices of data packs as per their wish.

Q)Who will check this monopoly of 2-3 players in the market?

Ans: Competition Commission of India(CCI).

**Suppose tomorrow JIO & Airtel decided amongst themselves to set 1GB/Per day data pack at Rs 500(it is called Cartelisation),at that time too you have to buy at that exorbitant price as you have no options. But CCI will ensure that price of that data pack is determined by market force,not by secret meetings between two dominant market players.

**Hence whenever margers/acquisitions happen,clearance from CCI needs to be taken so that parties(companies) can't use their monopoly position. E.g. suppose, market share of INTEL & NVIDIA in computer processor manufacturing is 45% & 30% respectively in India. Other 25% is manufactured by various small companies. If INTEL takeover NVIDIA,the amalgamated company will be a dominant player to set price for computer processors. CCI will look after this amalgamation whether it will disrupt Indian market or not.

Ans: A statutory body(formed by law but not by executive resolution) within the Ministry of Corporate Affairs,formed by Competition Act,2002
