***Let's Understand Nirmala Sitharaman***

We have been talking about Union Budget. Budget is a document which says about the estimated receipts & expenditure of the government for the particular year(1st April to 31st March).

**Budget can be classified into i)Revenue Budget & ii)Capital Budget.

**Revenue Budget: It contains revenue expenditures & revenue receipts.
*Revenue expenditure means expenditures incurred by government on day to day functioning and on services offered to people. E.g. salary/pensions of employees, rent of an irrigation office, grants given to state govt & union territories,food/fuel/fertiliser subsidy, interest payment on loans etc.

*Revenue receipts contain tax & non-tax revenue. -------->Tax revenue means various direct & indirect taxes e.g. income tax,GST, Stamp duty, corporation tax(tax levied on Adani Ports),Capital gains tax(suppose you invested 1 Lakh in mutual fund and you got 1.2L as return, that 20L capital gain will be taxed) etc.

---->Non-tax revenue: Dividend from Govt's share in enterprises e.g. NRL,PSBs,BSNL,previously Air India etc, interest on loans paid to state govts etc.

**Next we will discuss Capital Budget & others. Till now we have learnt about Finance Bill & Revenue Budget. Budget document contains many parts. The largest part is Annual Financial Statement(as per article 112). We will discuss other parts also.
